The Heinrich Boll Foundation Scholarship 2024 is a distinguished scholarship program open to both European and non-European students. International students from any subject are eligible to apply for this scholarship program to pursue a master's or doctoral degree in Germany. Each year, approximately 1500 scholarships are available. This is a well-known scholarship for students wishing to study in Germany.

Any state-recognized German university can accept the Heinrich Boll Foundation Scholarship. You can apply for this scholarship if you are unable to cover your expenditures in Germany. The deadlines for applications are March 1st and September 1st. Financial Assistance

1. Master's Degree:
  1. Non-EU Students: A monthly stipend of 934 euros is provided to cover living expenses, health insurance, and tuition fees in some situations.
  2. EU students receive a monthly stipend of 812 euros, as well as 300 euros in book money.
2.Doctoral Studies: 
  1. Non-EU PhD students: €1,200 per month plus €100 per month mobility allowance, plus different individual allowances; tuition costs are not permitted.
  2. EU PhD students: €1350 per month basic scholarship plus €100 per month research expenditures allowance; tuition fees are not permitted in Germany but are permitted in other countries to a limited extent.
Criteria for General Eligibility
  1. All nationalities are eligible for the award.
  2. Both German and international students are eligible to apply.
  3. Scholarship recipients must have outstanding academic records.
  4. Only online applications will be considered.
Criteria for International Master's students who obtained their university admission qualification outside of Germany:
  1. You can apply before or after starting your master's degree, but not after the first semester.
  2. Proof of your first professional certification is required.
  3. You must have Level B2 or DSH 2 (with a certificate) German competence.
Criteria for International Doctoral Students who obtained their university admission qualification outside of Germany:
  1. With your application, you must send documentation of admission to PhD study in a state or state-recognized university, typically in Germany.
  2. You must have completed preliminary work and submitted a valid completion timetable by the application deadline.
  3. Priority will be given to PhD subjects linked to the Foundation's key objectives.
  4. You must have a required level of German competence, which is Level B2 or DSH 2 (with the exception of DSH 3).
