Applications are now open for the MEXT Undergraduate Scholarship 2025 (Embassy Recommendation). It is a fully financed Japanese government scholarship for international students to study at Japanese universities administered by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT). Each May, the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) conducts a study of the number of international students in Japan. In 2022, there were 231,146 overseas students studying in Japan. 8,924 people were learning under a Japanese government fund.
