One of Canada's top universities, the University of Alberta, is now accepting applications for its 2025 scholarships. These scholarships are open to both international and Canadian students for the Fall 2025 intake, with classes starting in September 2025. Importantly, Alberta University has waived the English Proficiency Test for students from certain countries, so make sure to check the list of exemptions.

Scholarships That Don’t Require a Separate Application
These are automatically considered when you apply for admission:
- International Excellence Scholarship: Up to CAD$5,000 for top international students based on academic performance.
- Regional Excellence Scholarship: Up to CAD$5,000 for outstanding students from specific regions.
- Gold Standard Scholarship: Up to CAD$6,000 for the top 5% of students in each faculty.
Scholarships That Require a Separate Application
These scholarships need you to first apply for admission before submitting a scholarship application:
- President’s International Distinction Scholarship: Up to CAD$120,000 for exceptional international students with strong leadership skills.
- A Chan Pang Kuen Memorial International Distinction Scholarship: Up to CAD$120,000 for students with outstanding academics and leadership qualities.
- International Leader Scholarship: Up to CAD$15,000 for well-rounded international students with academic and leadership achievements.
- May Quon Undergraduate Scholarship: Up to CAD$100,000 for students from China or Hong Kong with financial need and strong academics.
- Cora Martinson International Scholarship: Up to CAD$56,000 for international students with financial need, entering the Augustana Faculty.
- Global Citizen Scholarship for IB Diploma Students: Up to CAD$53,000 per year for IB Diploma students from Aga Khan Academies with leadership skills and financial need.

How to Apply
- Apply to a Program: Choose your program to get a CCID (Campus Computing ID) and password.
- Create a Scholarship Account: Use your CCID to create an account and apply for scholarships. Note that it may take 3–4 days to receive your CCID.
